Scientific mobility is an important factor for research activities development, strengthening of contacts and enhancement of mutual understanding between countries. Marie Curie Actions Programme (, administrated by the Research Executive Agency of the European Commission ( / rea /), presents diverse opportunities for scientific mobility, starting from individual grants to multipartners consortia of research staff exchange.

Experience of Ukrainian research institutions participation in Marie Curie Actions is encouraging. Compared with results of the Sixth Framework Programme, almost 60 scientists from Ukraine received grants within this programme during four years of FP7.

On 19-20 May 2011 a workshop "Opportunities for Ukraine participation in Marie Curie Actions" was held within the INCONet EECA project (FP7) in the premises of the State Agency on Science, Innovations and Information of Ukraine. It was organized by the State Agency on Science, Innovations and Information, National Information Centre for Ukraine-EU S&T Cooperation (FP7 Mobility NCP) and Research Executive Agency of European Commission (REA).

The Workshop brought together about 70 representatives from research institutions, universities and public organizations. The participants had an opportunity to learn information presented by the European experts concerning the main aspects of the Marie Curie Actions; grants and individual fellowships; submission and evaluation of project proposals, financial issues, etc. As well, the Ukrainian scientists who participated in the programme shared their experience. During the event an interactive seminar and individual consultations with experts from the Research Executive Agency were held.
